Classroom recording range is a rough guide, not a guarantee: sit as close as practical; around 10–20 feet can work in a quiet room with a clear or amplified instructor. At 20 feet or farther, test a short recording and check the transcript before relying on it. Echo, classmates, and the device microphone can reduce accuracy.
Chrome on a computer is recommended for live transcription. On a phone, record with Voice Memos, then upload. Uploads are split automatically; originals remain available for replay. Your library stays in this browser on this device. Signing into Chrome or Google does not sync it. Clear history alone usually keeps it; clearing cookies and site data can erase it.
